I'm a curator, writer and producer living in London.
Working independently since 2015 I am founder of the curatorial project Future Assembly, artists' professional development platform, supported by Arts Council England. With Prof. Paul Goodwin I am co-curating a touring exhibition opening Janurary 2017 at New Art Exchange, Nottingham; I work on the curatorial team at Culture+Conflict, and am curator of the 2016 Emile Stipp Collection film screening. Over the last year I have have developed curatorial and writing projects with Stevenson, The Showroom, Autograph ABP, Rencontres de Bamako 10th edition and The Walther Collection.
As Assistant Curator at Tate Modern (2011-2015) I organised exhibitions, commissions, collection research for the Africa Acquisitions Committee and live events, with projects including: Richard Tuttle: I Don’t Know . The Weave of Textile Language, 2014; Across the board in London, Accra, Douala and Lagos, 2012-2014; Word. Sound. Power., 2013; Ellen Gallagher: AxME, 2013; Tania Bruguera: Surplus Value, 2012; Neue Sloweniche Kunst: An Historical Perspective, 2012 and Damien Hirst, 2012.
Previously, I held curatorial positions at Turner Contemporary (2009-2011) and CCA, Lagos (2008-2009) and independetly curated Sample featuring Yemi Awosile & Emeka Ogboh and Karl Ohiri, 2014; A Space Between Margate Photo Fest, 2011 co-curated with Sepake Angiama.
I was the winner of the Alice Emerging Curator Award in 2012 and nominated for the 6th Lorenzo Bonaldi Award for Art – Enter Prize Award in 2011. My writing on contemporary art has been published by Stevenson, The Walther Collection, Rencontres de Bamako 10th edition, Albertina Museum, Contemporary And (C&), Frieze and other leading arts publishers.
